Instruments can be damaged in many ways. Accidents, normal wear and tear, climatic changes, water, smoke, etc. happen even when you are being mindful of your valuable investment!
What we do.
We expertly repair damaged areas by cleaning, repairing cracks, edging,
repairing any gouges or unevenness in wood to proper contour. Then we
restore color and varnish to as close to original as possible. Depending on
the nature and extent of damage, color and texture of varnish, there is a
range of how much improvement can be expected. Some instruments do not
recolor well. Therefore, we reserve the right whether to accept a
restoration.
Most of our cosmetic repairs cannot be detected when finished.
Estimates
The best
method of arriving at a price of repair is to send your instrument to us.
However, with good quality e-mail photos, we usually can come close as to
cost of repair. The cost may vary upon physical examination.
